It is with heavy hearts that we announce the passing of Eddie Dean Brinkley, age 75, of Dallas, Georgia, on December 23, 2024. Born on April 2, 1949, in Austell, Georgia to Fred and Nelly Brinkley, Eddie touched the lives of everyone who knew him with his infectious smile and loving heart.
Eddie was a man who found joy in the simple pleasures of life. Whether it was spending hours fishing by the lake, tinkering with anything that needed fixing, or riding his trusty lawnmower, he always knew how to find happiness in the small things. He spent many years working as a mechanic at Weaver Brake & Tire, where his skills and work ethic earned him the respect of his peers and the gratitude of his community. After retiring, he continued to find peace in his hobbies and spending time with his family.
As a loving son, brother, husband, father, grandfather, great-grandfather, and friend, Eddie leaves behind a legacy of kindness, patience, and love. His family was his pride and joy, and he cherished every moment spent with them. His laughter, wisdom, and warmth will be greatly missed by all who had the privilege of knowing him.
Eddie is survived by his wife of 25 years; Frances Brinkley, children; Scott Brinkley (Michelle), David Brinkley (Dana Smith), Melissa White (William), Chuck Dobbs (Caroline), and Gary Dobbs, brother; Tommy Brinkley, sisters; Margie Brinkley and Dale Butterworth, 14 grandchildren and 4 great grandchildren.
Eddie is preceded in death by his parents, Fred & Nelly Brinkley, and his brother; Jimmy Brinkley.
A visitation for family and friends to gather will be held Thursday, December 26, 2024, from 5:00 PM to 8:00 PM at Winkenhofer Pine Ridge Funeral Home, 2950 North Cobb Pkwy, Kennesaw, GA 30152. A second visitation will occur Friday, December 27, 2024, from 12:00 PM to 2:00 PM. Eddie's funeral service to honor Eddie will be held on Friday, December 27, 2024, at 2:00 PM. The committal service will occur Friday, December 27, 2024, at Rolling Hills Memory Gardens, 4355 GA-92, Acworth, GA 30102.
While Eddie may no longer be with us, his spirit will live on in the hearts of his family and friends. He will be remembered not only for his hardworking nature but also for his unyielding generosity and his ability to bring light to every room he entered.
Rest in peace, Eddie. You will forever be in our hearts.
