Barbara Jean Perkins

Ms. Barbara Jean Perkins, age 91, of Kennesaw, GA., passed away on March 4, 2018. Ms. Perkins was born on February 18, 1927 in Charlotte, North Carolina, a daughter to the late Hal and Lillie Mae Mackorell.

At the age of twenty-one Barbara married Hugh W. Perkins and the two made their way to Atlanta, Georgia where they had four children. Barbara owned and operated a hair salon for many years and made countless friends. In her spare time she loved watching the birds, working in her flower garden, and shopping. She was a devoted Christian and loved singing in the church choir. She was a true southern lady with a kind heart and gentle spirit. Barbara was a devoted wife, mother, grandmother, and friend; she will certainly be missed by all who knew and loved her.

Along with her parents she is preceded in death by her husband, Hugh W. Perkins and one son, David Perkins.

She is survived by her three children, Deborah Perkins of Milton, GA., Denise Windham, husband John, of Denton, TX., and Daniel Perkins of Lawrenceville, GA.; six grandchildren and ten great grandchildren; a daughter-in-law, Judy Perkins; and several extended family members and friends also survive.

A funeral service to honor the life of Ms. Barbara Perkins will be held at eleven o’clock in the morning on Wednesday, March 7, 2018 at Winkenhofer Pine Ridge Funeral Home with Rev. Robert Ledbetter officiating. Interment will take place in the Pine Ridge Memorial Park Cemetery.

The family will receive friends from six o’clock in the afternoon until eight on Tuesday, March 6, 2018 at the funeral home.
