Annie Ruth Holloway

Ruth spent the majority of her life in the Cobb County area. She was the oldest of nine children, which easily taught her to be a caretaker to everyone she loved. Ruth was married to her loving husband, Leroy, for 37 wonderful years. She and her parents were founding members of the Kennesaw Church of God which started in her parents’ living room. For the last twenty-six years, Ruth was a member of the Liberty Square Church of God in Cartersville. Her faith was strong, and she was often praying for others. She taught children's Sunday school for many years, Ruth always loved children. She also started a widow's ministry called Golden Eagles to comfort and support other ladies. She enjoyed cooking, serving her family, and being with those she loved. Ruth was a dedicated wife, mother, grandmother, great grandmother, and friend; she will certainly be missed by all who knew and loved her.

Ruth is survived by her five children, Carol Darby of Tampa, FL, Cynthia Holloway of Cartersville, GA, Connie Penland of Cartersville, GA, Pamela Gross of Bridgeport, WV, and David (Sunita) Holloway of Cartersville, GA; brothers, Edward Oliver, Earl Oliver, Leon Oliver, and Raymond Oliver; a sister, Edna Willis; eight grandchildren, Alanna Taylor, Rachel Bosch, Crystal Hurt, Tiffany Penland, Ashley Gross, Zachary Gross, Jonathan Holloway, and Nina Holloway; five great-grandchildren, Landon, Caitlin, Axton, Ripley, and Will; and several nieces, nephews, extended family members, and friends also survive.

Along with her parents, Ruth is preceded in death by her husband, Leroy Holloway and three siblings, Letha Richards, W.B. Oliver and L.C. Oliver.

A funeral service to honor the life of Mrs. Annie Ruth Holloway will be held at four o’clock in the afternoon on Sunday, February 4, 2018, in the Chapel of Winkenhofer Pine Ridge Funeral Home with Pastor Jacob King officiating. Interment will follow in the Pine Ridge Memorial Park. A visitation with the family will take place from two o’clock in the afternoon until the service hour on Sunday, February 4, 2018.
