Joan R. Bilger, 90, passed away peacefully at home in Mesa, AZ on September 29, 2024. Joan was born in Buffalo, NY, November 6, 1933. She was a Head Clinician of Otolaryngology at EJ Meyer Memorial Hospital, Buffalo, NY at the time of her retirement.
Joan attended EJ Meyer Memorial Hospital School of Nursing from 1951-1955 and graduated from the State University of New York at Buffalo in 1964 with a BS in Nursing. Joan was a dedicated volunteer and parishioner at Saint Leo the Great Catholic Church in Amherst, NY.
Joan retired to Mesa AZ in 1998 with Her twin sister Jean Bilger. Joan was a member of All Saints Catholic Church, Mesa, AZ.
Joan is survived by her nieces, Jean Henn (Chick), Joan Harris, Holly Miller, Nancy Pipkorn (Randall); great nephews, Michael, Kyle, Dylan, great nieces, Shannon, Kimberly, Ashley, Kaytlin; great-great nephews Austin, Tristan, Kaden; great-great nieces Olivia, Khloe, Stella, Emilie, Callie, Naomi and great-great-great niece Avelyn. Joan was predeceased by her parents Albert and Josephine Bilger; brothers Albert (Loretta) Bilger and Clayton (Shirley) Bilger; sister Audrey Broker (Donald) and twin sister Jean Bilger.
The family would like to thank Shannon and Mike Buckner for their devoted care of her Aunt Joan.
Funeral arrangements are through Dengler, Roberts, Perna Funeral Home. Joan will be interred at Mount Calvary Cemetery, Cheektowaga, NY., on October 16th at 1pm.
