Ricky Blaine Epperson

Ricky grew up in Graham, Texas and attended the Graham School District where he graduated in 1967. After High School, Ricky went into the Army where he served 18 months in Europe, receiving honors of marksman, sharpshooter, the National Defense Medal and achieved the rank of Sargent. After serving his country Ricky came to serve in other ways. He began work for Goodyear Tire and Rubber in Mineral Wells where he was also a volunteer firefighter. He then moved to Newcastle after a promotion to Store Manager for the Olney Goodyear store. He would then spend the next 35 years working for Goodyear at various locations. He joined the Newcastle Vol. Fire Department where he was appointed Fire Marshal. After several weeks of fire and peace officer school, while still holding down a full time job, firefighting, taking his boys hunting and fishing as well as, part time ranching, he was then appointed and served as the Young County Fire Marshal for several years.

Ricky was a father to four boys Scott Epperson, Chad Ramsey, Casey Epperson and Cole Epperson.

Ricky married Sherry (Hawkins) Epperson January 23, 2004, where he would find happiness to fulfill the rest of his life. Ricky enjoyed being in the country, hunting, fishing, his family, and drinking coffee on the porch with his friends.

Ricky was preceded in death by his father, Paul G. Epperson and mother, Louise (Smith) Epperson, his brother Ronald Epperson and, his sister Melinda McCrory.

Ricky is survived by his wife Sherry Epperson of Kemp, son Scott and wife Raechel Epperson of Mansfield, Chad Ramsey of Fort Worth, Casey and wife Jamie Epperson of Graham and, Cole and wife Katlyn Epperson of Graham, Chad Prater and his wife Wendy of Arlington, Beau Prater of Alvarado, Shannon Wallner and her husband Rich, brother Donnie and wife Paula Epperson of Bridgeport, sister Tedda and husband Joel Ketter of Aledo, sister Paula and husband Paul Muller of Argyle and, brother David and wife Kathy Epperson of Euless. Grandchildren Jace and wife Rachel Epperson of Cleburne, Clayton and Grace Epperson of Mansfield, Emily and Cody Epperson of Graham, Katie and Bearet Ramsey of Fort Worth and Cooper Epperson of Graham, Great-Grandchildren Brylee and Charlee Epperson of Cleburne and Taylor Lewis of Fort Worth.

A memorial service will be held at Mountain Home Baptist church at 221 Mountain Home Rd. Jacksboro, TX at 2:00 p.m. on May 19, 2018. To celebrate the Life of Ricky B. Epperson lunch will be served prior to the service at 12:30 p.m.
