Tyler was born on January 11. 1954 in Edmonton AB, to Walter and Pamela Vickrey. In 1966, along with his family he moved to Kelowna, BC and attended Immaculata High School. Also at this time he joined the Order of DeMolay Canada and became the Master of Ceremonies. After college, Tyler boldly moved to England to continue his career as a welder, working for Rolls-Royce, where he earned his Inspection certification. He was hired by Bechtel International, which provided him with the opportunity to live out his dream of travelling the world.
After 36 years, Tyler retired to his farm in Kelowna, where he founded a successful apple orchard. Having a builders spirit, he could often be found in his shop working on new projects or making improvements to old ones. As a golf enthusiast he played a round every chance he got, and always had a tournament playing on the “telly”. He was very well known for his quick wit, quiet nature and generous heart.
Tyler was predeceased in death by his father Walter, and his mother Pamela. He is survived by his older brother Wesley, his younger brother Travis, a niece, a nephew, cousins and many close friends. A private family gathering will be held on November 27th with an open celebration to take place in 2022.
