It is with great sadness that we, the family, announce the passing of our beloved Mother, Grandmother and Great grand mother Rose Lewis. Mom fell asleep in death at the age of 92 and will remain in Jehovah God’s care until his resurrection that he has promised (Rev. 21: 3, 4)
Rose leaves to morn her son Warren (Joyce) of Calgary, Alta., her daughter Pearl Simon (Bill) of Sherwood Park, Alta. and son Don (Gail) of Kelowna, B.C. She also leaves behind 7 grandsons, 2 granddaughters, 15 great grand children and 1 great-great grandchild.
We the family would like to thank Terry & Ed for the years that you took such great care of Mom in your home. Ed, Mom loved the shopping trips to the stores with you. We would also like to thank Doctor Pollack, Doctor Erasmus, the staff at Village at Mill Creek, and the staff at KGH 4 west for their compassion, respect and kindness that you all showed Mom while in your care.
Doris, the family appreciates the time you spent with Mom as she loved your regular Monday visits, prayers, experiences and Bible readings.
Rose was born May8th 1920, near Vegreville Alberta to Mike and Lena Strutinski. She was one of 9 children. Rose was predeceased by her beloved husband Glenn, grandson Corey, brothers Ed and Peter, sisters Mary, Kate, and Sally. Rose is survived by brothers Bill (Christine) and Stan (Barb), sister Nancy (Tony).
Rose married Glenn Lewis on February 15th 1939.They lived in Lac La Biche, Alta, Westlock Alta and Jasper Place Alta. Rose and Glenn moved to Kelowna B.C. in 1974. They love picking fruit, camping, boating and taking their grand children for walks to the waterfalls.
Rose learned about Jehovah in the mid 1950`s and dedicated her life to serve Jehovah in 1961. She loved talking to people about Jehovah and his promise for a paradise on earth where there would be no more sorrow or death. She has made many friends over the years attending various congregations - West bank, Dilworth, Mission Creek Glenmore and Lakeshore.
One of Mom’s favorite scriptures from the Bible was Psalms 23.
Memorial services will be held on Wednesday at 2:30pm, at the Kingdom Hall of Jehovah’s Witnesses at1039 K.L.O. Rd., Officiated by Dan Doucette.
