Robert "Bruce" Telford (1948 - 2023) passed away peacefully at Kelowna Hospice House on Monday, January 30th with his immediate family by his side. He will be forever loved and missed by his family and friends.
Boarding school days on Vancouver Island earned Bruce the title of a Shawnigan Lake Old Boy (SLOB). While attending Simon Fraser University, he met his future wife, Myrna, on a blind date, and they married in 1969. His early professional life took Bruce and his young family across Canada, but they returned to British Columbia where he found his heart's home in Kelowna. Bruce had an entrepreneurial spirit and was an active member of the community through the Rotary Club of Kelowna. During the past thirty years, he grew to love gardening and early morning walks. Bruce enjoyed golfing and socializing with fellow Rotarians, including his "muffin club" friends.
The family would to thank the doctors, nurses, staff, and volunteers for their care and kindness during Bruce's time at Kelowna General Hospital, Cottonwoods, and Hospice House.
A celebration of Bruce’s life is being planned for the summer.
