Michael Prystae

It is in loving memory and with heavy hearts that we are sad to announce the passing of Michael (“Mike”) Prystae, beloved husband to Doris for 67 years and father to Michael (Maureen), Terry (Glynnis), Clint, Jacquie (Deb) and Karen (Phil).

Mike spent his working career as a member of the Operating Engineers, Local 115 as a machine operator in the Lower Mainland of British Columbia. Mike retired at 60 years old and shortly thereafter moved to Kelowna. Mike and Doris enjoyed travelling and spent several years travelling south to Mesa, Arizona for winters, cruised to Alaska and travelled to Barbados, Hawaii, Nova Scotia, San Diego and loved the outdoors camping throughout Canada and the United States with family.

Mike is survived by his loving wife Doris, sons Michael, Terry and Clint and daughters Jacquie and Karen. Younger brother Harold and wife Linnea from Manitoba. Grandchildren include Jennifer, Travis, Jason, Joshua, Jolene, Melissa and Brittney and great grandchildren Shayla, Caden, Hanah, Paige, Jaxon, Aiden, Amelia, Aria, Eleanor, Macy, Owen, Zoey and Lilian.

Mike was predeceased by his parents Joseph and Pauline, his sister Mary, daughter in law Fran and grandchildren Matthew, Joseph and Sharon Rachel.

A special thanks go out to Mike's family doctor, Dr. Daniel Obedkoff and the doctors and nursing staff at Kelowna General Hospital. Thank you for all your care and support we received.

A Celebration of Life is planned for the Spring of 2025 in Kelowna.
