LINDAHL, Leona Catherine – July 14, 1946 – March 29, 2015. Born and raised in Humboldt, SK, Leona faced a brave, yet short, battle with pancreatic cancer and ended her journey in Kelowna surrounded by her family. She passed 3 short weeks after her husband of 43 years, Herb, and was also predeceased by son Lynden in 2013, her parents, two brothers and infant twin sister. Leona is survived by her daughter Cathy (Brad) Dillman of Kelowna, 3 sisters, 1 brother and their families along with many very special extended family members and friends. Mom lived for many years in Edmonton and worked nearly 40 years for the Alberta Government. She and Pa recently relocated to West Kelowna for health reasons. A selfless woman who put others before herself, she loved nothing better than doing special things for others. Mom loved children, her pets, gardening and playing cards. Her quick wit was with her to the end. She touched many lives and leaves an empty space within the hearts of those who knew her. To the nurses of Central Okanagan Hospice in Kelowna, we thank you for the kindness and compassion you showed Mom and our family during her final days. A Memorial Service for both Herb and Leona will be held at First Memorial Funeral Services, 1211 Sutherland Avenue, Kelowna, BC on Saturday, April 25, 2015 at 11:00 am. Condolences may be sent to the family by visiting www.firstmemorialfuneralkelowna.com. Arrangements entrusted with First Memorial Funeral Services, Kelowna, BC. 250-762-2299
