Mom was born in Vancouver on October 17,1929. She moved with her parents to Totsky, Saskatchewan at the age of one, where they farmed until moving to Clouston, Saskatchewan when she was 13. Mom met her love Al at the age of 16 while attending a Community Hall dance being held in honour of the returning soldiers in 1945. She worked as a nanny, housekeeper and cook for a family in Saskatoon until their marriage in June of 1948.
Mom and Dad farmed in the Red Deer Hill area until 1963 when they moved into Prince Albert, where they both worked in retail. Family vacations to the sunny Okanagan led to moving to Kelowna in 1968, where Mom worked for Fumerton’s and The Met until she retired to enjoy more time with her family. Mom and Dad shared 55 years together before his passing in 2003.
She shared and enjoyed her last annual New Year’s Day celebration in June this year, a little delayed, with 5 generations of her family. Mom, Grandma, G.G, we love you and miss you.
The family would like to thank Dr. R. Van Der Ross and Dr. D. Joffi , as well as the staff of IHSC1 for the gentle and compassionate care our mom received.
