Gerry passed away peacefully December 3, 2023 at Kelowna General Hospital, with family at his side. He will always be remembered as a loving husband, father, grandfather, brother and uncle.
He was predeceased by his parents, Al and Irene Williams. Gerry leaves to mourn his passing, his wife Florence “Flo”, son Randy (Heather), daughter Stacey Richard), grandchildren Shianne, Ciara and Taylor, his brother Brian and sister Valerie (Jim). Also, his extended family of step children Connie, Joe, Rick (Lan) Rebecca (Leroy) and step grandchildren, Eric, Elora, Danica, and Daniel, as well as many nieces and nephews.
Gerry was born in Prince Albert, Saskatchewan, and raised on the family farm at Red Deer Hill until 1963, when they moved into Prince Albert. After some family vacations to B.C., the move was made to Kelowna in 1968. There he met and married Bernice in 1969 with whom he had a son and daughter. Later, after parting from his first wife, Gerry reconnected with his teen sweetheart Flo. Gerry and Flo were married April 23, 2015, and began their new life together.
Over the years, Gerry worked at Eaton’s and Modern Home Furniture in Prince Albert, as well as Marshall Wells and Wosk’s in Kelowna. He later managed the Kelowna Lawnmower Shop and then was self employed repairing small motors.
He enjoyed the outdoors, first at the family cabin at Anglin Lake, then camping with his own family. In later years, he was always keen for the Sunday drives he and Flo would take to explore areas around Kelowna, but often ending up in unexpected areas.
Our husband, dad, grandpa, brother and uncle will be greatly missed but always cherished.
The family would like to thank Dr. R. van der Ross, and the doctors and nurses of Kelowna General Hospital, ward 4A, with a special nod to “ nurse Janet “, for all their care and support.
There will be no service by request. Condolences may be sent to the family by visiting www.firstmemorialfuneralkelowna.com
