George Juraj Hudj, age 74, loving husband to Janine, dutiful father to Monica and Veronica, adoring grandfather to Mila and Kali passed away peaceful on October 7, 2024 at Kelowna General Hospital.
George was born in a small village in Croatia on Easter weekend in 1950. After serving in the Yugoslavian army, he immigrated to Edmonton AB to join his siblings and for the opportunity for a better life. He moved his young family to Lake Country BC in the early 90’s where he built his dream home with the help of his brother. There, he spent endless hours tending to his gardens, fruit trees, bees, and farm animals. George enjoyed making people laugh, and the company of close friends. He had an entrepreneurial spirit, a love of sports and vintage cars, and was considered a Jack-of-All-Trades. He will be honoured in the hearts of his family and friends, each carrying their own remembrances of the man he was.
Formal services will be held at 1pm on Friday October 11, 2024, at First Memorial Services in Kelowna BC, followed by a celebration of life for his birthday, April 20th, in Edmonton AB.
