Cecelia was born January 16, 1931 in Port Alice, BC. Her family homesteaded in Sidmouth, BC, south of the now vanished townsite of Arrowhead. The family relocated to Revelstoke, BC where Cecelia attended high school. After graduation, Cecelia worked for the local Sears Order Office and then the Post Office, where she met her future husband Mike Harrison. They were married in 1956 and eventually settled in Enderby to raise their family. Cecelia was an accomplished horsewoman and enjoyed long rides on her horses up in the woods.
Cecelia and Mike eventually retired to Vernon, where she pursed her talents as an artist, becoming a member of the Shuswap Painter’s Group. After her husband’s death Cecelia moved to Langley to be near family. She recently relocated back to Enderby.
Cecelia is survived by her sister Bernadine, daughter Teresa (Dale), son Steve (Ellen), grand-daughters Tracy (Ken), Anna (Jordon), Theresa (Ben), grandson Kerry (Lynn), and seven great grandchildren: Casey, Aida, Jude, Katalina, Tiana , Ronan, Arthur. She also leaves behind several nieces and nephews.
Family was very important to “Mother” and she enjoyed the role of matriarch of her family. She enjoyed family gatherings and will be missed. There will be a celebration of life in Kelowna, followed by interment in the Cliffside Cemetery in Enderby.
