Thomas Sutton, of Keller, Texas, passed away on Tuesday, November 19, 2024, in Fort Worth, Texas. He will always be remembered as a husband, father, grandfather, son, brother, stepfather, uncle, and friend to all that knew and loved him. He was born on August 16, 1949, in Grosse Point, Michigan to LeRoy and Nancy Sutton. Tom enlisted in the Navy in 1970 and was honorably discharged in 1972. Tom wore many hats for 25 years in the restaurant industry. His proudest accomplishment was his connection to people as a trainer. In his later career he worked as a mortgage broker before retiring. Tom’s favorite pastimes other than spending time with his family include reading, watching old movies, golfing, and gardening. He met and fell in love with Patty, and they married on November 11, 1989. They just celebrated 35 years of happily married bliss. It was Tom’s hope that through his actions he taught his loved ones how to conduct themselves. He strived to live his life to the fullest and leave his mark on others by being remembered as a good man. Tom’s greatest love was his wife, daughters, stepson, and grandchildren. Tom is survived by his wife, Patty Sutton, daughters, Julie (John) Shirley, Bridget (James) Hester, stepson, Tom (Teresa) Burnett, Grandchildren, Jake (Elisabeth) Shirley, Blake Coleman, Jillian Shirley, step-grandchildren, Ryan (Liz) Hester, Jess Salinas, Bryce Hester, Thomas Burnett III, step-great-grandchild, Karsyn Hester, sister, Lynn Sheldon, niece, Jennifer (Matt) Mervack, great-nephews, Jeremy Mervack, Charlie Mervack, Sam Mervack. He was preceded in death by his father, LeRoy Sutton, mother Nancy Sutton, brother-in-law, Leonard Sheldon, nephew, Joshua Sheldon. The visitation will be held from 4 – 6 o’clock p.m. on Sunday, November 24, 2024, at the Keller’s Old Town Funeral Home. The Funeral Service will be held at 1 o’clock p.m. on
Monday, November 25, 2024, at Keller’s Old Town Funeral Home. Interment will follow at the Bourland Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the Keller United Methodist Church (Resource Center) or the American Heart Association.
