Olaf was born April 24th, 1934 in Mulifanua, Upolu, Samoa. He has resided since in Suva, Fiji; Auckland, New Zealand; Fullerton, California; Orlando, Florida; Mesa, Arizona; Redondo Beach, California and Arlington, Texas.
He is the eldest son of Ernst Keil, who was the first Keil to be born in Samoa, and Fai'itua Letelemaa'ana Keil. He is brother to Elfie Keil Schwenke (deceased), Klaus Keil, Helga Keil Kemmethmueller, Eliza Keil Heston, Herma Keil, June Keil Thomsen (deceased), Maila Keil Lelepali and Ernie Keil.
He is survived by his first wife married 22 years, Christina Bryce, her daughter Deborah Bryce Alefosio and their sons Jarrard Keil, Shane Keil and Derek Keil. Surviving grandchildren are Christina Alefosio, Sariah Keil, Samuel Keil, Stephen Keil and Lydia Keil.
His wife of 25 years, Lucy Mata'ali'i Wallwork Keil was called to be with the Lord before him and they are survived by her children, grandchildren and great grandchildren.
Olaf was educated in Samoa, Fiji and New Zealand. His focus was always music and instruments. Notably, he was involved and created his own band with family members called the Keil Isles in New Zealand. In the United States he is known to have been employed in Fender Guitars custom department and was instrumental in the creation of guitars for celebrities including Jimi Hendrix, Glenn Campbell, Johnny Cash, Buck Owens to name a few. His talents were not limited. He did not limit his love of God as he worshipped as an endowed member of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints. His most fruitful years of church service was when he was called to serve as a Seventy.
A visitation and viewing is scheduled to be held Tuesday morning February 1st, 2022 from 9am-10am. His funeral service will follow at 10am the same day and will be held at
