Lois Marie Barnett Vancleave

Lois Marie Barnett Vancleave, 80, passed peacefully from this life the morning of December 21, 2023, in North Richland Hills, Texas. Lois was one of ten children, born January 27, 1943, in Dallas, Texas, to her parents Lee and Lois Irene Brown Barnett. Her childhood was spent near Downtown Dallas/Oak Cliff area with her six sisters and parents, sadly her three brothers passed away early in life as infants.

Her passion in life was genealogy. Her curiosity started early on in her childhood with a visit to the Dallas Library and wanting to understand her family tree. In retirement, Lois devoted her time to researching and building her family tree with her sisters. Her family was not unfamiliar with her requests to participate in the Ancestry DNA tests and her long talks of the family lineage. Lois thrived at being a Nana to all her grandkids and continuing her legacy with them.

Lois is survived by three children; Paul Barnett, North Richland Hills, TX; Sherry Vancleave Crockett (Jeffrey), Lewisville, TX; Sheryl Vancleave Schroeder, North Richland Hills, TX; Her four grandchildren; Katherine Lindsey, April Surette, Benjamin Schroeder, and Brittany Crockett; four great grandchildren; Hailey Forester, Connor Surrette, Tanner Surrette, Rylee Townsend; and two great-great grandchildren; Koralea Lindsey, and a surprise baby on the way. Lois is also survived by her sisters Mary Barnett Coon, Helen Ruth Barnett Pevytoe, and Jeannie Barnett Hornbeck. She was preceded in death by her parents Lee and Lois Irene Brown Barnett; her husband Thomas Vancleave, her daughter Kathy Barnett Lindsey, her granddaughter Sara Crockett, brothers Paul, Jack, and Raymond Barnett, and sisters Lila Lee Barnett Bell Graves, Irene Barnett Morgan, and Paula Barnett.

Visitation will be held on Thursday, December 28, 2023, from 2:00 PM until 3:00 PM at Kellers Old Town Funeral Home, Keller, TX. A graveside celebration of life will be held shortly after at 3:30 PM at Bluebonnet Hills Memorial Park, Colleyville, TX.
