John Reginald Pool

John Reginald Pool, born November 30, 1940, in Odessa,Texas, to Oso and Helen Pool, passed away on January 13, 2024. He is predeceased in death by his parents, Oso and Helen Pool; brother, Bill Pool; sister, Delores Weinberger and step-daughter, Katty Graham. He is survived by his beloved wife, Patty Pool; his son, Reggie Pool and wife, Aimee Pool; his daughter, Sheri Weaver and husband, Ken Weaver and his step-son, Bo Brown and wife, Charlotte Brown. He will be greatly missed by his grandchildren Shannah, Sean, Charli, Kaden, Kelli, Kinley, Katelyn, Hadley, and his great-grandchildren, Kingston, Rylee, and Mackey, along with numerous nieces, nephews, cousins, and other extended family.

John touched the lives of many with his kind, generous and giving nature. He had a big heart that wanted to help those in need. John was a math and physics teacher for over thirty years, with a BS and MS from the University of North Texas, he held the position of Physics Department Chairman of Odessa College, and Mathematics Department Chairman at Amarillo Junior College. He took great pride in being an educator and preparing students for their next phase in life. John’s lifelong passion was flying. It was more than just a hobby, it was a defining aspect of his character. He enjoyed showing his family and friends the wonders and freedom of the sky.

John will always be remembered as a loving husband, father, grandfather, great-grandfather, and friend. His legacy of kindness and generosity will live on in the hearts and minds of those who knew him.

A visitation for John will be held Friday, January 26, 2024 from 1:00 PM to 2:00 PM at Keller's Old Town Funeral Home, 220 Keller Pkwy, Keller, TX. Followed by a celebration of life at 2:00 PM. A graveside service will be Saturday, January 27, 2024, 2:00 PM at Sunset Memorial Park, 6801 E., I-20BL, Odessa, TX. Following the graveside service, the family invites friends to join them for a reception at The White-Pool House, 5:00 pm.
