Marion “Earl” Jackson, long-time resident of Keller, Texas, left us on November 3, 2022 just shy of his 82nd birthday. To honor Earl’s memory, his family and friends will have a celebration of life on Saturday, November 12, 2022 at Keller Old Town Funeral Home, 220 Keller Parkway, Keller, Texas 76248. Visitation begins at 1:00 pm with service to follow at 2:00 pm.
Earl is survived by his loving wife of 41 years, Cathie, and her daughter Susan and husband Buddy Smith of Raleigh, North Carolina; son, Cary Jackson and wife Katrina of Bryan, Texas; daughter, Cheryl Royal and husband Keith of Bridge City, Texas; and daughter, Timi Jackson and Jeremy Gdowski of Phoenix, Arizona. He was Papa Jack to his grandchildren, Kelly Royal, Jordan Haynes and husband Hayden, and Tanner Royal.
Earl was a loving husband, father, grandfather and friend to so many whom he considered family. As a young man, Earl served our country in the US Coast Guard-as a communications specialist. He then enjoyed a successful career working at the University of North Texas and then made the most of his retirement years. Earl spent his time volunteering in his community, researching genealogy, and reading books about history especially for the A.M. Pate, Jr. Award. He also enjoyed the Civil War Round Table, hand crafting pens, and even racing cars in his earlier years. For his family, he will be remembered as just being an awesome, kind, silly, wonderful man. He will be greatly missed.
The family would like to thank all of the friends who have supported our father and Cathie. Words can not express our gratitude, and we thank you for loving them well.
In lieu of flowers, donations may be made in his memory and to honor his love for fine arts to the Jubilee Theatre: https://www.jubileetheatre.org/donate-now
