Steven G. Cohen

Steven Cohen, 59 of Keene NH – son of Arthur and Ruth Kaplan Cohen, passed away September 15, 2017 after a short period of failing health. Steve was a long term cancer survivor, and later coped with the slowly debilitating effects of Muscular Dystrophy.

He is survived by his father: Arthur E Cohen; Brother and sister-in law Bruce & Pazit Cohen of Framingham Ma; Brother Daniel Cohen of Keene, and his niece Heather Cohen of Gilsum. Steve received his master’s degree in mass communications and had an enriching career in the field of publishing. His never ending thirst for knowledge was seconded only by his love of music and poetry. Many of his muses were printed in the Keene Sentinel. Through his tough exterior, there was a very gentle and caring man that offered love and generosity to all he touched.

He had a very special place in his heart for an autistic boy he knew. His wit, humor, and compassion will be missed but not forgotten. “There is a road, no simple highway, between the dawn and the dark of night, and if you go, no one may follow, that path is for your steps alone” ― Jerry Garcia

Funeral Services will be held at the Synagogue of the Congregation Ahavas Achim, Hastings Ave, Keene, NH on Sunday, September 17, 2017 at 1pm. Burial will follow in the Monadnock View Cemetery, Park Ave, Keene, NH.
