He was born in Winchester, April 27, 1940, the son of Wesley and Daisy (Stone) Sullivan and has resided in the Monadnock region all of his life, having moved to Keene in 1965.
Mr. Sullivan graduated from Thayer High School, and had been employed in Hinsdale and Winchester at the paper mills. He retired from Keene State College where he had been employed for twenty five years as a supervisor in the electrical department.
His hobbies included working with wood, photography, and painting. He enjoyed fishing, mountain climbing playing the guitar. He treasured letters and cards from family/ friends over the years.
He is predeceased by his parents, a son Neil C. Phillips who died in 1982 as well as two brothers: Wesley Sullivan and John Sullivan.
Survivors include: his wife of 30 years Barbara (Tarbox) Sullivan of Keene, three daughters: Barbara Hammond of Keene, Karen Libby of Milton WA., and Cheryl Lund and her husband Earle III of Keene; two brothers: Patrick Sullivan of Winchester and Daniel Sullivan of Hinsdale; two sisters: Jean Eckert of Baldwinsville, MA., and Margaret Bedaw of Keene, six grandchildren, six great grandchildren, as well as many nieces and nephews.
Calling hours for Mr. Sullivan will be held at the Fletcher Funeral Home & Cremation Services, 33 Marlboro Street, Keene, Wednesday evening from 6 to 8.
A Liturgy of the Word will be celebrated Thursday morning at 10 o'clock at St. Bernard's Church in Keene. Family and friend's are welcome to attend. Burial will follow at the family lot in St. Joseph's Cemetery in Keene.
