He was born in Keene, NH on April 17, 1948, son of the late Helen (Rivers) and Arthur Laurendeau. He was raised in Marlborough, NH where he attended local schools. Following school, Paul enlisted in the United States Army and proudly served his Country. He received an honorable discharge in 1971, along with several medals for his exemplary service.
Paul had been employed by the State of New Hampshire as a plow truck driver and the Town of Marlborough at the landfill. He also took on part-time jobs assisting families with opening and closing of their seasonal homes. Paul was a volunteer at the Marlborough Fire Department and retired from there after 25 years of dedication.
An avid racecar fan, Paul enjoyed tinkering on cars and trips to the racetracks in Loudon. He could often be found watching the races at Applebee’s where he was a regular and had his own designated seat. He enjoyed his membership at the American Legion in Marlborough and playing darts. Paul’s biggest passion was fishing. He knew all the good fishing spots around Dublin Lake, but his most favorite fishing hole was Stone Pond in Marlborough. If Paul wasn’t to be found, it was a safe bet that you would find him there.
Paul will be dearly missed by his niece: Denise M. Werner and her husband David of Lutz, FL; nephews: Clarence H. "Tiger" Batchelder III and his significant other Robyn of Nelson, NH and Christopher P. Batchelder and his wife Tammy of Keene, NH; and many great and great-great nieces and nephews.
In addition to his parents, he was predeceased by his sister Bette Batchelder and her husband Clarence.
Burial with military honors will be held at St. Joseph Cemetery, Main Street, Keene, NH on Tuesday, July 16th at 10:00 am.
Paul loved children of all ages and cherished being an uncle to so many. In lieu of flowers, memorial donations are requested to be made in Paul A. Laurendeau’s name to Feeding Tiny Tummies, 305 Park Ave, Keene, NH 03431 (eee.FeedingTinyTummies.com).
