Patricia Marie Bourassa passed away on Tuesday, November 22, 2016 at Langdon Place of Keene, after a lengthy illness. She was born in Plymouth, NH on March 19, 1935; the daughter of the late John and Janet Dyshlevich.
Patricia was a lifelong resident of the Keene area. She attended the city schools, graduating from Keene High School, class of 1953. While in high school, she played Field Hockey, Basketball and Softball. After graduation, Pat was employed as a file clerk for Kingsbury Manufacturing.
After marrying, Pat lived in Hillsborough, NH for a short period of time. Here her husband, Edward F. Bourassa, Jr. worked as a teacher, coach and principal at Hillsborough/Deering High School. Pat, Edward and their three children moved back to Keene in 1963 so Edward could help facilitate the opening of Monadnock Regional High School. They settled in the Keene neighborhood where Pat grew up. As a homemaker, Pat’s focus was her family. She and Edward raised four children on Pearl St.in Keene. When her child rearing years were completed, she and Edward moved to Spofford, where they eventually retired.
Pat’s affinity for any and all animals is well known by her friends and family. She always had a variety of pets in her home and raised champion blood-line Springer Spaniels. She loved dogs and adopted many rescues, giving them a loving home!
She is survived by a sister, Sophie A. Dyshlevich of Keene; a son, Dana Bourassa and his wife Doreen of Amherst, NH; three daughters, Kim McDonnell and her husband Joe of CO, Shelley Pangonis and her husband Tom of Keene and Terri Healy and her companion Mark Reade of Weare, NH; six grandchildren, Raymond McDonnell, Brandy, Robin and Holly Bourassa, Lindsy Healy and Cloe Pangonis; as well as two great-grandchildren, Van and Lillian McDonnell.
There will be no Calling Hours. A Graveside Service will be celebrated on Wednesday, November 30, 2016 at 11:00 am at Saint Joseph Cemetery, 600 Main St., Keene, NH. Friends and family are welcome. A reception will follow at noon at Papagallos Restaurant, 9 Monadnock Hwy, in Keene. The FLETCHER FUNERAL HOME, 33 Marlboro St. Keene, NH is assisting the family with arrangements. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the Monadnock Humane Society, 101 W Swanzey Rd, Swanzey, NH 03446.
