Marilyn D. Woods

She was born on November 11, 1942, in Keene, NH, daughter of the late Herbert and Norma (Brown) Drugg. She attended Troy High School and graduated with the class of 1960.

In October of 1961, Marilyn married the love of her life, Raymond G. Woods, following his honorable discharge from the Navy. They celebrated many wonderful years and adventures before his passing in May of this year.

Marilyn had been one of the five founding members of the Troy Emergency and Ambulance Service, where she was an EMT-A, Captain, and member of TEASI for over 20 years. She taught advanced first aid and CPR for many years throughout New England. She was a long-time employee of Port-O-Lite of West Swanzey from which she retired as Vice President.

Outside of her career endeavors, Marilyn enjoyed coaching little girls softball for several years in the Town of Troy. She was a 60-plus year member of the Trojan Grange. She loved to scrapbook and made more than 18 books for her family. She and her sister Pam did extensive genealogy research for their family tree. Her favorite hobbies included crocheting, sewing, gardening, reading, completing puzzles, and camping in Maine. More than anything, she cherished prime time with her husband and daughters, whether it was sitting by the fire or going on a shopping spree.

Marilyn leaves behind and will be dearly missed by her daughters: Debra W. Stone and her husband Gary of Troy, NH, and Patricia W. Starkey of Troy, NH; granddaughter: Brandee Stone and her fiancé Timothy Grimshaw of Jaffrey, NH,; great-grandchildren: Gage and Zachary Parker and Oliver and Evelyn Stone; a very favorite sister, Pamela Michelson of Troy, NH; sister Cherryl Perreault and her husband Tom; sister-in-law: Jeanne Drugg of Troy, NH; nephews: Tim Wilson and his wife Deb, Herb Drugg, Ben Drugg, Dan Drugg, and Keith Murdock; nieces: Tina Pike, , Andrea Murdock; a favorite cousin Judy Moran; as well as numerous additional cousins and extended family in New York, Pennsylvania, and Georgia.

In addition to her parents and beloved husband, she was predeceased by her son Raymond Alan Woods, grandson G. J. Stone, and brother Herbert Alan Drugg.

All those who knew and loved Marilyn are invited to calling hours on Wednesday, October 23rd from 5:00 pm to 7:00 pm at Fletcher Funeral Home, 33 Marlboro Street, Keene, NH. A graveside service will be held at Mt. View Cemetery, North Main Street in Troy, NH on Thursday, October 24th at 11:00 am.
