He was born on April 3, 1950, in the Bronx, NY, to William F. and Eleanor J. ( Birdsall ) Fleming, Jr. He was a 1968 graduate of W. Tresper Clarke High School on Long Island and attended NY Technical College. After school he went to work first for Howard Jameson Agency, then as the Art Director for Sports Eye Magazine.
In 1988 he and his family moved to Keene where he worked as a graphic designer for Leisure Weekly magazine for 3 years. In 1991 he moved to Swanzey, where he resided up until his death.
He most recently worked for the Town of Swanzey at the Swanzey Recycling Station, where he frequently could be found talking about his art, his children, or arguing about baseball. Although he had moved out of NY, he was a lifelong Yankees fan, and had no problem expressing his feelings for the team. He also held a passion for reading, and was a real History Buff, specifically the Civil War time frame.
He is survived by his daughter: Meghann Fleming of Keene, a son: Dr. Daniel Rizzuto of Philadelphia, PA; a granddaughter: Violet Thompson of Denver, CO; and two brothers: William Fleming, his wife Donna and their two children of Swanzey and Robert Fleming, his wife Gail and their two children of Spofford.
Calling hours will be held Monday, September 21, 2015 from Noon until 2 at the Fletcher Funeral Home. A graveside service will follow in Oak Hill Cemetery in Swanzey.
Fletcher Funeral Home and Cremation Services, (www.fletcherfuneralhome.com) 33 Marlboro St, Keene has been entrusted with the arrangements.
