Judy Willett passed away peacefully on September 15, 2023, in Keene, New Hampshire, at the age of 78. She was born on June 12, 1945, in Keene, NH, to Rachel (Doody) and George Gaillardetz and was preceded in death by her mother, father, and brother, David Gaillardetz.
Judy was a light in the lives of those who knew her. She was kind, generous, and thoughtful, with a smile and laughter that could light up a room. Judy was a devoted wife of 58 years, the greatest mom in the world, and the biggest cheerleader to her nine grandsons.
A lifelong resident of Keene, Judy loved camping trips, the beach, and going on long drives. She was active with her kids in 4H, found joy in watching their sporting events, was an active reader of romance novels, and loved music and dancing. Her home was often filled with the smell of homemade cookies, with the sound of Barbara Streisand, Celine Dion, Air Supply or Neil Diamond, and with the laughter of and conversation with good friends who were considered a part of our family. She loved relaxing with a good book and a hot cup of tea.
Throughout her career, Judy wore many hats. First as a bookkeeper at Al Melansons and WKBK, followed by a 25+ year career at Genesis Eldercare in Keene, where she served as an office manager offering love and compassion to families who sought care for their loved ones. Additionally, Judy and Clovis were the proud owners of Willett Greenhouse. She loved flowers and the joy and comfort they offered to her community.
She will be missed by so many including those she left behind: her husband, Clovis Willett, her three sons, Kevin Willett (and wife Joanne), Kenny Willett (and wife Amanda), Kelly Willett (and wife Marcine), and her daughter, Kristen Belanger (and husband Mark). Her pride and joy were her nine grandsons: Zach Willett; Kevin Jr. and Ryan Willett; Hudson, Foster, Porter, and Ledger Willett; and Willem and Max Belanger. She is also survived by her sister, Susan and several nieces and nephews that she loved as her own.
The family would like to extend their heartfelt appreciation to the caring community that helped her through her difficult battle with Alzheimers.
Our mom was selfless and a friend to all. She would ask that you always be an inspiration to those around you. Treat others with respect and love. Build memories that will last a lifetime.
Calling hours will be held at Foley Funeral Home, 49 Court Street, Keene, NH on Friday, September 29th from 5:00 pm to 7:00 pm. Mass of Christian Burial will be held on Saturday, September 30th at 10:00 am at St. Bernard Church, 185 Main Street, Keene, NH. Burial will follow at St. Joseph Cemetery in Keene.
In memory of Judy's life, contributions can be made to the Alzheimer's Association (www.Alz.org).
