She was born on February 7, 1914 in Pugwash, Nova Scotia, the daughter of William and Sarah (Walker) Kennedy. Her family moved to Georgetown, MA when she was a child and she attended schools in that area.
In her early adult years, she moved to the Keene area and has lived here ever since.
Mrs. Bleau worked for several area businesses including Princess Shoe and MPB.
She was a member of the American Legion Gordon-Bissell Post #4 Auxiliary here in Keene.
Mrs. Bleau enjoyed playing cards and was an avid Red Sox and Patriots fan.
She is survived by her husband Francis Bleau of Keene; daughters Jeannette Lecuyer of Keene, Alene Castonguay, and husband Leo, of FL, Gail Fountain of TX; sons Richard Treat of DE, Albert Berube, and wife Eleanor, of MA; Norman Bleau, and Donna , of TX; 20 grandchildren, 30 great grandchildren and 10 great great grandchildren. Her husbands Clarence Treat and Edward Berube, daughter Constance Rideley, sons Robert Treat, Arthur Berube and Michael Bleau all died earlier.
Services for Mrs. Bleau will be held on Thursday, July 14, 2011, 10:00 AM at Fletcher Funeral Home & Cremation Services, 33 Marlboro St., Keene, NH. Interment will follow at Monadnock View Cemetery in Keene. Calling hours will be held on Wednesday evening, 6:00 – 8:00 pm also at the funeral home.
