Her parents, Violet (Jarvis) and Walter Bourassa Sr., welcomed their daughter into the world on August 1, 1949 in Keene, NH. She grew up in Keene and was a graduate of Keene High School.
Barbara worked at W.L. Bourassa Disposal and Ken’s Trucking Company. Barb later put her skilled hands to work at the former Mill House Florist in North Swanzey, NH.
Over the years, she enjoyed sewing and quilting. She made beautiful gifts for many loved ones. She was an avid Red Sox fan, and was able to attend playoff games with her family. There were many years, you'd find Barb operating Barb’s Grinder Shack during Cheshire Fair . This was more enjoyable to her than it was work. She loved catching up with friends, especially the whole Lash Family.
Her whole world centered on her family. She loved Sunday dinners and the Christmas holiday brought her great joy. She loved watching her granddaughter’s sporting events, and of course with Christmas being her favorite holiday, she loved the quiet moments watching the Hallmark Christmas movies.
She will be greatly missed by many of all ages who fondly called her "Nannie", however her cherished family will greatly miss her, especially her daughter, Chrissy Fusco and her husband, Josh, of Fitzwilliam; her grandchildren, Violet Jackson, Josh Fusco, Jr. (Destiny), Austin Fusco (Brooke); her brother, Robert Bourassa, of Alstead, NH, her sisters, Norma Royce of Unity, NH, Joanne Kruger, of Falmouth, MA; her many nieces, nephews and extended family members whom she loved deeply; Tanya Taylor Gibson and her family who held a special place in Barb’s heart. Her brothers, Walter, Kenneth, Donald and Philip Bourassa; and her sisters, Pauline Healey and Patty Bourassa, predeceased her.
