William Terry Hughes was born October 5, 1959 in Tuscaloosa, Alabama to Odessa Sledge (Mother) & Charlie Gene Hughes (Father). Terry lived in Fort Worth, Texas as a child and attended Van Zandt-Guinn Elementary School & Morningside Middle School. He than moved back to his home town Fayette, Alabama in the tenth grade and graduated from Fayette County Highschool. After graduation, Terry decided to venture into a Trade School out in Forth Worth, Texas to expand his knowledge in pursuing a career in becoming an electrician.
Terry ventured out of Fort Worth, Texas and met the love of his life Martha in Houston, Texas. They decided to become one on December 19, 1989 and expanded their family with three sons Charlie Evans, Alec Slade and William Terry Hughes Jr. Terry was a well-respected business man that made many long-lasting relationships throughout his business ventures. He then closed that chapter and decided to venture into the oil field as he climbed the ladder to become a supervisor of his own division. After a few years of working in the field he than retired.
Terry Hughes impacted everyone’s lives in every which way that will be instilled in our hearts forever weather it was the good or the bad. He was not only a great father, a phenomenal grandpa to his three handsome grandchildren Isaiah Evans, Karter Jackson and Julian Alexander Hughes, but a brother that anyone could ask for and great friend to many. William Terry Hughes will be missed and never forgotten. To cherish his passing he will be leaving behind a wife Martha Hughes, three sons Charlie Evans (Whittney), Alec Slade (Christopher) & William Terry Hughes Jr. Sister Regina Monroe (Willie), Victoria Smith, Randy Turner, Charles Adam, Christina Bennett, Bennie Hughes and Elizabeth Hughes. Uncle Thurman Sledge , William Randy Hughes, Rader Davis, Willie Mae Sledge, Massies Bash , Mildred Green, Deborah Sparrow. Lots of nieces and nephews but most importantly three beautiful grandchildren that will carry on the legacy of being a Hughes.
