Sharon Rogers

Sharon was born October 4, 1938 in Oceana, West Virginia to Garnet and Eloise Birley. Sharon grew up in Oceana and graduated from Oceana High school. Sharon married her High school sweetheart and started a family. She traveled with her husband who was serving in the Air Force. She was able to travel and lived in Japan, New York and finally coming back to her hometown where she worked for a doctor's office and supported herself and her children after her divorce. She followed her parents to Michigan where she continued to work for a doctor's office where she excelled at her job. One night she went with her friend to enjoy a night out where she not only met but eventually married again to the love of her life. Sharon made a job change and worked in a male dominated auto industry where once again excelled in everything she did. In 1983 Sharon and her family made a dramatic change and moved to Texas where here roots grew and made an amazing life for her husband and children. Sharon owned a successful cleaning business, worked for Kroger where she finally retired to be a full-time housewife and mother. Sharon attended Memorial Baptist Church, Central Baptist Church and finally finding Second Baptist Church where she was a member and led several other people in making Second Baptist their spiritual home. She loved spending her time with friends and family, especially her grandchildren and great grandchildren.

Sharon was preceded in death by her parents; husband Don; son Greg and granddaughter Ashley. She leaves behind her brother Gary Birley of Oceana, WV, Daughter Debra Kramer her husband Dennis and their sons Dennis and Michael, daughter-in-law Shelly Burkett her children Meghan, Chris, Jenny and Stephanie, Chris Burkett and his children Amanda and Chris, Glen Rogers and his daughter Katelyn, Michael Rogers his wife Flora and their children Carson, Cole and Mia, and her daughters in love, Sylvia Garza and Sue Eiben. Sharon also leaves behind 17 great grandchildren.

Sharon was a proud member of the Daughters of the American Revolution. Sharon was a mother to all who knew her. She was an amazing wife, mother, friend and "granny". She was a proud Christian woman who approached everything in life by putting God first. She led by example and showed us all that putting God first in our lives and the lives of her grandchildren and great grandchildren we could accomplish anything possible and that “all things are possible through the father".

The Rogers family would like to thank all our family and friends who were there in her final days and giving your endless love and support. We couldn't have done what was needed without you.

A celebration of life will be happening August 27, 2022 at the home of Mike and Flora Rogers, 1734 Wild Mustang Canyon, Katy, TX 77493, starting at 6pm and going through 8pm. We want everyone to come and share memories and stories that help celebrate this amazing woman.

There will be an intimate graveside service for mom for family only. She will be placed with our Dad, Mr. Donald Rogers and next to her granddaughter Ashley.
