Robin Lawrence Cerny

Robin Lawrence Cerny, 68, of Praha, Texas, left us on December 3, 2024. A beloved wife, mother, daughter, and sister, Robin will always be remembered for her kindness and willingness to help others. She brought light to everyone she met.

Born September 14, 1956, in Houston, Texas, Robin was the daughter of Frank and Nellie Lawrence and sister to Karie Lawrence and Lolly Lawrence.

Robin graduated from Spring Woods High School where she met the love of her life, Gary Cerny. After earning a Dance Degree from Sam Houston State University, Robin became a drill team director where she had a tremendous impact on many young women, that today still talk about the life lessons they learned from Mrs. Cerny.

In 1980, Robin and Gary married and created a family, with their son, Colton. Robin spent her days devoted to her family and serving others with her generous heart.

Robin is survived by her husband, Gary Cerny; son, Colton Cerny, and his wife Shannon; sisters Karie Lawrence and Lolly Lawrence; father-in-law Stanley Cerny; sister and brother-in-laws Sharon and David Crowe; niece Julie Perry and several great nieces and nephew. She was preceded in death by her parents, Frank and Nellie Lawrence, and mother-in-law Ann Cerny

A gathering with friends and family on Tuesday, December 17th at 4:30pm; a celebration of life will follow at 6:00pm at Katy Funeral Home, 23350 Kingsland Blvd, Katy, TX 77494.

A church service and burial will be the following day, Wednesday, December 18th, at 10:00am at St. Mary’s Catholic Church, 821 FM 1295, Flatonia, TX 78941.
