Raul Francis Gonzalez

Raul Francis Gonzalez, age 49, of Cypress, Texas passed away from COVID-19 complications on Saturday, August 21, 2021. Raul was born March 24, 1972 in San Salvador, El Salvador. Raul moved with his family to California in 1982.

Raul graduated from Culver City High School in 1990 in Los Angeles, California. From his graduation, he then committed 4 years with the United States Marine Corps. He was stationed at Camp Pendleton and was sent overseas to Okinawa as a combat engineer.

He spent his life working hard every single day, creating a life for himself and his family that he can be proud of. He had many careers in his life, making new friendships and honing his skills. He also spent his time enjoying the simple things in life, football and baseball, loving his cats, eating good food and drinking a cold beer.

Raul leaves behind his parents, Raul and Rosa and his younger brothers, Walter and Genesis. He has a family that will miss him dearly, the love of his life for 30 years, Cynthia; his two daughters Lea and Monique and his two sons Matthew and Nikolas. He is also leaving behind a host of other cousins, nieces and nephews, aunts and uncles, friends, coworkers, and brothers in arms.

A visitation for Raul will be held Sunday, September 12, 2021 from 4:00 PM to 6:00 PM at Katy Funeral Home, 23350 Kingsland Blvd, KATY, TX 77494. A funeral service will occur Sunday, September 12, 2021 from 6:00 PM to 7:00 PM, 23350 Kingsland Blvd, KATY, TX 77494. A committal service will occur Monday, September 13, 2021 from 2:15 PM to 3:15 PM at Houston National Cemetery, 10410 Veterans Memorial Dr, Houston, TX 77038.
