John was such a well-rounded man - loving, intelligent, musical, humorous - as well as an ordained minister.  We thoroughly enjoyed him being the officiant at Shannon and Justin's wedding. We loved seeing him enjoy his special bond with granddaughter Rachel - they were like 2 peas in a pod. We were so blessed to share our families. John will always be in our hearts. 

I was in St, Joseph Hospital  in down town Houston , Texas  with my sister  Edna and his dad Tommy Hill when Johnny was born…I adored him from the get go. .  I lived with them and once we brought him home, he was just a bundle of joy.    After a few weeks I realized it was a bit crowded, so I got my own place VERY close by as I wanted to be there often.  Johnny was precious to me and I am so very sorry for the loss of a husband, father and a brother.    Enduring the loss of your loved one is very painful.  You  all will be in my prayers. To the family of John Edwin Hill

It is with great sadness that I just learned of the passing of our beloved John. I know personally, that he is home with his Savior and Lord, Jesus Christ and our awesome Abba Father God!

Though John followed my residency at Cal Farley's Boy's Ranch (1967 - 1971), we were good friends through our Alumni Association. I served on the BOD for 17 years through 2022. John was very helpful with our BOD and especially our Finance Committee. I personally had the blessing of working with John through the Great Recession of the 1980's. We've talked many hours and have shared our faith and fellowship with one another.

John is one of the most brilliant men I have ever known. But most of all, his love for his wife and children was what he really loved to talk about, all the time. My heart breaks that we have lost him so early, but Father had another plan. Our Lord healed him perfectly! He now has no more physical infirmities and has his new spiritual heavenly body. For this, I must praise God! Can't believe that he beat me there!

I will always remember him to be a leader, a man of integrity and honor and having a heart full of our Father's Agape Love. He was beloved of his many brothers and sisters of Cal Farley's Boys Ranch. He is a legacy amongst us...

Though I will not be able to make it there for the visitation or Celebration of Life, my heart and spirit will be present with you. Know that I and many others are lifting you, his family, up in prayer as you grieve John's absence in his earthly body. I will also dearly miss our telephone conversations and reunions.

John you were an inspiration to me always making me feel like I am a crucial member of this company. You will be sorely missed and always remembered.

Greetings Hill Family. I am saddened not only by our loss of a great man, but also by the fact that I will be out of town for his celebration of life.

I want to take the time to say this now. John was a very important part of my life for over 25 years. Sometimes I guided him and sometimes he guided me, but we always walked together along the path toward growth and better things.

John was remarkable in the size and depth of his heart. He felt everything in life powerfully, and loved expressing it! He cared for and loved with the same power his God, people in general, and especially those who are closest to him, his family.

I am proud that John called me his friend and grateful to have had him in my life.

So sorry to hear of John's passing. John and I graduated from Cal Farley's Boys Ranch together. May God bless his family at this difficult time. I know John is with Jesus now.
