Born on July 27, 1945, in the small town of Azaro, Pueblo Nuevo, Falcon State, Venezuela, Doris was the cherished daughter of Dalia Maria Colina de Romero and Antonio Aquino Romero. Raised in a close-knit family with her siblings—Drina Rosa, Delman, Delis Mercedes, and Dioglin Jose—Doris’s childhood was filled with music and joy, often singing on the local radio station with her sister on weekends.
A proud graduate of San Francisco Javier Catholic High School, she later earned her Teaching Certification, which led her to a career in public education. Doris married the love of her life, Efrain Antonio Primera, on February 5, 1965. Together, they built a beautiful life and raised four wonderful children. After Efrain’s passing in 2001, Doris remained steadfast in her devotion to her family.
Her professional journey was defined by service and courage. Doris began as an elementary school teacher before answering a higher calling—law enforcement. She graduated at the top of her class from the Police Academy and went on to serve over 20 years with the Policia Tecnica Judicial (PTJ) as a detective and administrator. Her dedication, leadership, and work ethic earned her numerous accolades and promotions.
In 2015, Doris made one of the most significant decisions of her life—leaving Venezuela to reunite with her children and grandchildren in Katy, Texas. This transition marked a new chapter filled with family gatherings, joyful reunions, and treasured memories.
Doris is survived by her children: Hennynel Beatriz Doyle, Diddier Alexander Primera Romero, Efrain Antonio Primera Romero, and Maria Auxiliadora Primera Romero; her grandchildren: Maria Daniela, Megan Nicole, Carlos Eduardo, Grecia Valentina, Greishly Karoline, Samuel Alejandro, Samantha Rose, Sabrina Angelina, Johan Issac, Josue David, Johebeth, Mariam Sarahit, Ricardo David, and Mauricio Andres; and great-grandchildren: Colt Matthew, Camila Grey, Case Antonio, Grace Karol, Lucero Valentina, Kiran Gabriel, Matthew Daniel, and Esther Rose.
She is also survived by her loving siblings: Drina Rosa, Delman, Delis Mercedes, and Dioglin Jose.
Doris was preceded in death by her husband, Efrain Antonio Primera; her parents, Antonio and Dalia; and leaves behind a legacy of strength, resilience, and unconditional love.
Known for her radiant spirit, Doris brought light to every room. She loved solving puzzles, tending to her roses and calla lilies, crocheting, dancing, and cooking traditional Venezuelan dishes for her family. She had an incredible memory, impeccable handwriting, and a passion for order and beauty in her home. More than anything, she found joy in serving others—whether through her profession, her community involvement, or simply being there with open arms and a giving heart.
Her life was a testament to compassion, courage, and unwavering devotion to family and service. She will be deeply missed and forever remembered.
