Wilma was the daughter of Clarence Eugene and Mary Louise (Oliver) Cook and was born in Kansas City, Missouri in the Northeast Historical District and attended Northeast High School. Wilma worked for Sears and Roebuck and later worked in the grocery business. Wilma met Wesley Rapp in 1944 and they were married September 26, 1946. Wilma and Wesley had two children, Robert Wesley and Peggy Gene, and moved to Raytown in 1951.
Wilma was an active member of St. Mark’s Catholic Church. Wilma had also been active in The Daughters of the American Revolution, American Business Women’s Association and Kansas City Women’s Chamber of Commerce, Kansas City Women’s Credit Union.
Wilma was preceded in death by her first husband, Wesley Rapp in 2003, after 56 years of marriage, her second husband, Kenneth Walker in 2011, daughter, Peggy Gene (Rapp) Little in 2021, her parents, brothers John Cook, Donald (Dorothy) Cook, Glen (Opal) Rapp, sister Cleo Marie Cook, brother-in-law, Treyman (Emile), sister Geraldine (Betty) Williams and brother-in-law Glenn Williams.
Wilma is survived by her son, Robert Wesley (Linda) Rapp, son-in-law Ricky Little; 5 grandchildren; Tracy (Rapp) Vigil, Jessica (Rapp) Hooper, Joshua Rapp, Victoria DePeralta, and James (Marina) DePeralta; 9 great-grandchildren and 4 great-great grandchildren; sister Patricia Cook Brotherton, brothers, Orville Cook, James (Delores) Cook and Gordon Cook; cousin Frances (Wabnetz) Lloyd and several nieces and newphews.
Special thanks to niece Sheri Cost and husband Charlie for the love and support in Wilma’s last few years.
A visitation will be held Wednesday, September 14, 2022 from 1pm - 2pm at Floral Hills Funeral Home (7000 Blue Ridge Blvd, Kansas City, MO 64133). A prayer service will begin at 2pm at the same location.
In lieu of flowers, the family request memorial donations be made to St. Mark's Catholic Church
