Virginia ‘Ginny’ Lynn (Guemmer) Proctor, 78, of Lee’s Summit, MO, went home to be with her Lord and Savior February 5th, 2016; her husband of 60 years, Melvin Proctor, was lovingly by her side. He wrote his immediate thoughts after her passing, which read, “My dearest Ginny now has eternal peace and comfort, no more pain and confusion, with her Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ. Her mansion is completed near God’s throne. After 60+ years, words simply cannot describe how much I’ll miss her. There is a void I cannot describe but Hallelujah! Ginny is free at last, safe in the arms of Jesus!” Ginny was born on March 30, 1937 in St. Louis, MO to Vernon and Margaret Guemmer. She was preceded in death by her parents, Vern and Marge Guemmer, daughter-in-law Donna Proctor, and son-in-law Major John R. Whyte. She is survived by her loving husband, Melvin H. Proctor, and three children Terri Bittner (Jim), Thomas Proctor, and Julie Whyte. She is also survived by nine grandchildren Nathan, Mathew (Jillian), Garad, and Caleb Proctor; Erik, Brian, and John Bittner; and Madelyn and Evan Whyte; and two great-grandchildren Austin and Rachel Proctor. Friends and family will dearly miss Ginny’s spirit, gentleness, and beautiful smile. When asked what Ginny would most like people to remember her by she stated, “As being a good wife and mother; being the best example I can be to others, and by loving my grandchildren more than my life”. And she most definitely was the most incredible wife, mother, grandmother, great-grandmother (Mimi), and friend. She was someone who loved her family and friends both sacrificially and unconditionally. Ginny was previously employed as a medical transcriptionist for various doctors’ offices. She also lovingly cared for many children within her church nursery and volunteered a tremendous amount of time with CASA and VNA hospice services. A visitation will be held on Thursday, Feb. 11th from 9:00-10:00 a.m. followed by a funeral service at the Floral Hills Funeral Home, 7000 Blue Ridge Blvd., Kansas City, MO 64133. There will also be a visitation Thursday, Feb. 11th from 5:00-7:00 p.m. at Scrivner-Morrow Funeral Home, 5414 Simpson St., Russellville, MO 65074. Services will be held at the Scrivner-Morrow Funeral Home, Friday Feb. 12th, at 10:00 a.m., followed by burial at the Enloe Cemetery, Russellville, MO.
