Tim was born August 8, 1981, in Kansas City, MO. He graduated with honors from Rockhurst High School, where he also ran cross country. During high school, he met his wife, Christina Steffens, while working at the Prairie Village, KS Hy-Vee. They began dating in July 1998, finished high school together, and then both attended Saint Louis University, where Tim graduated summa cum laude with a double major in business administration – management information systems and criminal justice.
Tim and Christina then moved to Columbia, MO, where Christina taught kindergarten while Tim earned his Juris Doctor from the University of Missouri-Columbia, where he again graduated summa cum laude. Tim and Christina were married in June 2005 and moved back to Kansas City in 2006, where Tim would work in corporate law for more than 15 years, including his first 10 years with Polsinelli.
In February 2009, Tim and Christina welcomed their first son, Jeremy, who was followed by their daughter, Haley, in August 2010 and their son, Anthony, in August 2013. Tim was a dedicated husband and father who loved sports, including the Mizzou Tigers, Kansas City Royals and Kansas City Chiefs. He loved watching his children play sports, playing card games, smoking meat, and he could rival anyone on Seinfeld and Friends trivia. He was also a gifted storyteller, who had a wonderful sense of humor.
Tim was preceded in death by his brother, Greg Steffens; cousin, Joey Bates; grandparents, Larry and Mildred Steffens and Robert and Opal Towe; uncles, Wayne Towe and Bobby Blankenship.
