Lee worked the concession stands for the Kansas City Royals and the Kansas City Chiefs, eventually retiring from Kansas City Public Schools as a cafeteria worker.
In her younger years, she was a member of St. Mark’s Lutheran Church before transferring to Immanuel Lutheran Church. She had a heart that chased after the Lord and she loved her family and friends immensely.
Lee was preceded in death by her husband Robert Hass of South Dakota, mother Theodosia Walker Thomas, brother Paul L. Thomas, and sister Mary Francis White.
She leaves behind her three children, Debra Tomlin of Peculiar, Missouri, Michael Hass of Liberty, MO, and Victoria Hass-Buente of Kansas City, Missouri. She is also survived by eight grandchildren, Catherine Tomlin, Christopher Tomlin, Thomas Joseph Tomlin II, Andria Leedy, Celeste Perkins, Stephanie Hass, P. Chandler Frick, and Ashton Hass-Buente, as well as 10 great-grandchildren and many nieces and nephews.
A visitation will be held from 12-1 on Saturday, October 28 at Immanuel Lutheran Church, 1700 Westport Road, Kansas City, MO 64111. Funeral service will be held at 1 PM at the church. Burial will follow at Floral Hills Memorial Gardens.
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to either Alzheimer’s Association or the American Cancer Society.
