Theodore “Ted” Edward Montgomery was born April 22, 1943 in Raytown, Missouri to William Lee Montgomery Sr. and Lulu Lee Ford Montgomery. Ted passed away on May 24, 2021 from Idiopathic Pulmonary Fibrosis in Fort Worth Texas.
Ted was preceded in death by his mother, Lulu Lee Ford Montgomery; father, William Lee Montgomery Sr.; brothers, William Lee Montgomery Jr., Wendell Lewis Montgomery, Thomas Eugene Montgomery, John Howard Montgomery, and Smith Ford Montgomery.
Ted is survived by his sisters, Mary Ellen Montgomery Douglas, Judy Mae Montgomery Brehm, Linda Lou Montgomery King and Dorothy Ann Gilmore; his special full time care giver, niece Judy Lee Craig, whom he called the Texas Tornado; and many other nieces and nephews.
Ted was raised in Plattsburg, Missouri, but spent all of his adult life in Kansas City where he worked for 45 years as a baker for CJ Patterson CO. His true passion was showing dogs, and he belonged to several dog clubs during the 38 years he was active.
A Memorial Service will be held in Ted’s honor on Saturday, June 12, 2021 at 1:00 PM, with a Visitation starting at 12:00 PM, at the McGilley Antioch Chapel, 3325 NE Vivion Road, Kansas City, MO 64119. Inurnment will follow services in White Chapel Cemetery, Gladstone, MO.
