Terry Robert Bryson passed away on May 18, 2022 at the age of 84 in Plano, Texas. Terry was born in Kansas City, Missouri on September 15, 1937 to Robert and Emma Bryson. He grew up in Kansas City and Falls City, Nebraska. While at Northeast High School in Kansas City, Terry played nose guard on the football team, and met his first love, Karen. Karen and Terry married shortly after high school and immediately started a family. They had three daughters – Jill, Jan, and Jody. While working full-time during the day, Terry earned his engineering degree, taking night courses at Finlay Engineering College. After his wife’s passing from a long battle with cancer in 1997, Terry reconnected with high school friend Mary Crouch Nigro, who he married in 2002 and settled with in Plano, Texas
Terry had 30 successful years at Armco Steel where he started as a draftsman in his teens and working his way up to District Sales Manager of the Midwestern Division in Minneapolis. He continued his career with Huntco Steel in St. Louis, MO as their General Manager, then went on to Talbot Industries to become Senior Vice President of Sales & Marketing in Joplin, MO. He was a member of Christ United Methodist Church in Plano, and a 60-year member of the Ancient Free and Accepted Freemasons. Terry was an avid golfer, Oklahoma Sooners and Kansas City Chiefs football fan, and most importantly, a devoted family man. He loved to laugh and share stories, jokes, and wisdom that he had accumulated through his many chapters of life. He was very passionate about the people he loved and was a pervasive source of encouragement to all who were lucky enough to be his friend or family member. The way he dealt with his health issues during the past few years showed mental toughness and an ability to get through difficult situations with a good attitude, while continuing to think of others.
