Shirley A Wood

Shirley Wood passed away on December 1, 2015 at St. Joseph Hospital, at the age of 83. Funeral mass will be Friday, December 4, 2015 at 10 a.m. Visitation will be one hour prior to Mass at 9 am at Christ the King Catholic Church, 8510 Wornall Rd., Kansas City, MO. Shirley was born to Jack and Madge McNett in Piqua, KS on November 23, 1932. In 1950 she moved to Kansas City and met the love of her life Harry Wood and married in 1952. Shirley worked for the Meat Cutters Union, was Treasurer for World Apostolate of Fatima and served Meals on Wheels, Food Kitchen at Christ the King Parish. Shirley was blessed to be able to visit the Our Lady of Fatima Shrine in Portugal. She is predeceased by her mother and father Jack and Madge McNett, her husband Harry Wood and her son Greg Wood. She is survived by her daughters, Kathy Schooler (Garrel) of Wakarusa, KS; Debra McGuffey of Raytown, MO’ Terrie Dowdy (Rob) of Olathe, KS; Bonnie Davis of Lee’s Summit, MO; brothers Thelbert (Mary) McNett and J.C. (Carolyn) McNett and sister Delores (Ernie) Miller, 9 grandchildren and 14 great grandchildren. Shirley was loved and cherished by her whole family. Shirley died as she lived a true Servant of God.
