Ms. Shirley Hunsburger was born in Greene County, Missouri on December 1, 1938. She was divorced and was fiercely proud of her independence. Throughout her life, she was a devoted member of Beta Sigma Phi Sorority and the Eastern Star, contributing her time and energy to these organizations. Shirley also spent a decade as an employee at Comcast (Xfinity), retiring in 2004. She also worked in management in retail fashion for many years before that.
She was preceded in death by her parents; David and Velma Pettigrew; and her ex-husband (Duane) in 1996.
She is survived by her sons; Dale R. Hunsburger, Brian D. Hunsburger, and Joel B. Hunsburger. As well as grandchildren; Megan (Dusty) Young, Abagail (Hunter) Hunsburger, Geoffrey (Heather) hunsburger, Joshua (Gina) Hunsburger, Katie (Brandon) Joney; along with nine great grandchildren.
A memorial service for Shirley will be held Saturday, June 15, 2024 from 11:00 AM to 11:30 AM at Floral Hills East Memorial Gardens, 25203 E US Hwy 50, Lee's Summit, MO 64086.
