Sharon was married to Leon Pinkerton on December 7, 1974, and together they built a beautiful life filled with laughter and cherished memories. She was a devoted mother to her two daughters, Shelley Hamill and Nicole Kwiecien, who were her pride and joy. Sharon was also a proud grandmother to her grandson Mitchell Hunt (Ashley Hunt) and granddaughters Alyssa Kwiecien and Teagan Kwiecien.
A member of the Bonner Springs Church of Christ, Sharon was known for her generous and charitable spirit, as well as her warmth and kindness. With a successful career in the personal lines insurance industry for over 25 years, she held the CPCU designation and served as an agency manager and vice president before owning her own agency for 10 years. She retired in 2014 after selling her agency, leaving a lasting impact on her profession.
Sharon was preceded in death by her father, William Bruce Finks; her mother, Willogene Finks; and her sister, Rebecca (Finks) Machonga. She is survived by her loving husband, Leon Pinkerton; her daughters, Shelley Hamill and Nicole Kwiecien; her brother, Donald Finks (Patricia Finks); her sisters Lana Goddard (Steve Goddard) and Patricia Hagedorn (Leon Hagedorn); and many beloved nieces and nephews.
A celebration of Sharon's life will be held on October 17, 2024, at Floral Hills Funeral Home and Cemetery. A visitation will be held from 1:00 pm to 2:00 pm. The funeral service will be held from 2:00 pm to 3:00 pm, with the graveside service immediately following. In lieu of flowers, the family requests donations be made to the University of Kansas Cancer Center.
