Sandra Marie Botello

Sandra Marie Torres Botello,67, of KCMO, died Saturday, December 6, 2014 at Vitas Hospice. Visitation will be Friday, December 12 from 6pm – 8pm with rosary at 7:45pm at Floral Hills. Funeral Services at St. John Francis Regis at 11:30am on Saturday, December 13, 2014. She graduated from Redemptorist High School 1965 and was crowned Queen of the Sweetheart Dance. As a child she was active in Catholic Youth Organization and the Mexican Fiestas where she danced alongside her sister Linda Reyes and reigned as Queen of the Fiesta. Growing up she cared for her sisters. She worked 43 years at Blue School Cross and Blue Shield of Kansas City where she was an active member of the Cross n’ Shield Club and Material Girls quilting society. She loved to dance. She is proceeded in death by her parents, Carlos and Gloria Torres. She is survived by her husband of 27 years, Manuel S. Botello, Jr.; son, Damian Torres-Botello, SJ; siblings Linda Reyes of Grandview, MO; Charles Torres of KCMO; Gloria Jean Torres of KCMO; Debbie Geezey (husband Gary) of Independence, MO; Monica Thomas of Joplin, MO; and Denise Rein (husband Brett) of Raleigh, NC; 15 nieces and nephews, 24 great nieces and nephews, and one great-great niece.
