A Celebration of Life is planned at 2:00 PM Sunday, July 7, 2024 at the Elks Lodge, 421 S Titus Ave, Excelsior Springs, MO 64024.
Ron was born on August 24, 1943 in Kansas City, Missouri to Nola M. Freeman (Schoolfield and Flow R. Schoolfield. He was a graduate from Roosevelt High School in Excelsior Springs, MO in 1961. Ron was married on May 11, 1962 to Sherry Lee Albers of Kearney, MO. Ron began working as an airline mechanic for TWA. Over 54 years, the couple welcomed three children into their home. His family remembers him as a driven individual who encouraged them to achieve their goals. Ron enjoyed farming with his father and vegetable gardening. Many friends remember him sharing his vegetables with them as he was so proud of them. He loved being outdoors. Camping and fishing with friends and family was one of his favorite past times. Ron was an avid sports fan and often played referee from his living room. He was an active member of the Fraternal Order of Eagles 3917 and The Benevolent Protective Order of Elks 1001 both of Excelsior Springs, MO.
Ron is preceded in death by his wife Sherry L. Schoolfield and his two sons Terry L. Schoolfield and Brian K. Schoolfield. Ron is survived by his daughter Tracy L. Thompson of Excelsior Springs, MO and three granddaughters Tayler L. Joslen (Chris) of Kansas City, KS; Samantha L. Schoolfield (Chelsey) of Desloge, MO; and Sadie B. Gattorno (Eddie) of Olathe, KS.
The family would like to thank Excelsior Springs Hospice and Excelsior Springs Hospital for their care and dedication during his illness and passing.
