Reverend Robert T. Gavin

Reverend Robert T. Gavin, 84, was called home by the Lord January 17, 2013, after a short battle with aggressive thyroid cancer. Born in Chicago, Illinois, Father Bob was the Rector of St. Albans Anglican Church in Lenexa, Kansas. He began his religious studies after retiring from a long and distinguished career as a Claims Manager for the AIG Insurance Group and as President of Gavin Consultants. He is a former Scout Master of Boy Scout Troop 187 in Kansas City and a Korean War era veteran. Bob joins those waiting for him in heaven including his son Michael, parents John and Jean Gavin, brother John and sister Dr. Jeannine Gavin. He is survived by Shelby, his loving wife of 59 years, sons Kevin (Luaun), Gregory (Penny) and Robert (Michelle), as well as grandchildren Ryan, Lauren, Kyle, Brian, Scott, Tommy and Marie. Visitation will be Sunday, January 20th, from 5:30 - 7:30 p.m., at Mt. Moriah & Freeman Funeral Home, 10507 Holmes Road, Kansas City, Missouri. Funeral Services will be Monday, January 21st, at 11:00 a.m. at Trinity Anglican Church, 3920 West 63rd Street, Fairway, Kansas.
