Richard Grieser Shull II, affectionately known as Rick, passed away on November 9, 2024, at the age of 60, after a courageous 5-year battle with cancer. He was surrounded by his loving family in his final moments, bringing comfort to all who knew him.
Rick met Denise at Drake University and the two married shortly after graduation, starting a beautiful life together. Born in May 1964, in Missouri, Rick embraced life’s simple joys, from fishing to tending his saltwater tanks and garden. He was a dedicated father, always present at his children’s sports games, band concerts, and college graduations. Rick was also a successful businessman with a passion for helping others. His kindness, generosity, and dedication to his work left a lasting impact on all who had the privilege of knowing him.
Rick is survived by his beloved wife, Denise, his four cherished children, Stephanie Shull, Katie Halbeisen (Dylan), Ricky Shull (Ashley), and Annie Shull; his parents, Richard and Barbara Shull, and his siblings, Debbie Scaramucci, and Brad Shull. His legacy of love, resilience, and kindness will live on through his family and the countless lives he touched.
A visitation will be held from 1-4PM with a celebration of Rick’s life starting at 2:30PM on Saturday, November 23rd at McGilley State Line Chapel. Rick’s family would like to extend their deepest gratitude to the medical team and caregivers who supported him throughout his journey. He will be remembered for his strength, warmth, and enduring spirit.
