Richard A. Mackey, Jr. “Mack”, 57, of Independence, MO passed away April, 21, 2013. Visitation from 10-11am on Fri., April 26th at the McGilley & Sheil Chapel with memorial service beginning at 11am. Cremation. Mack was born on Nov. 23, 1955 to Richard Sr. & Violet (Cross) Mackey in Mitchell, SD; where he grew up & attended school. Mack was a brick mason & worked beside his father for M&W Masonry until 1987 when he moved to Indep., MO. On May 30, 1986 he married Judy (Dotson) Williams. He began working for the City of Independence in 1989 and became a Power Plant Operator in 1991; retiring in Nov. 2012. Mack enjoyed hunting & fishing; which he shared with his close friends from work. They spent many hours in tree stands & turkey blinds hunting deer and wild turkey. Mack was predeceased by his first wife, Bonnie Mackey; son, Steve Mackey; niece, Claire Mackey; his father; his paternal & maternal grandparents. Mack is dearly loved & will be missed by his wife, Judy; sons, Don of Sioux Falls, SD, Doug & David Williams, both of Indep., MO; two grandchildren; two great grandchildren; mother, Violet Mackey of Mitchell, SD; four sisters, Brenda Semmler, Kathy Schroeder (Garrett), Judy Gaston (Steve) & Jodi Campbell (Kacey); four brothers, Wade, West (Carol), Beau & Jeremy Mackey; two brothers-in-law, Dr. Tom Dotson (Anita) & Sam Dotson (Deb); many nieces, nephews & friends.
