Mr. Richard Allen Jones

Richard was born on August 28, 1930, in Corder, MO to Evean and Marie (Hanson) Jones. Richard united in marriage with Maryanna Martin on June 11, 1948 in Kansas City, MO and was married for 71 years . He was retired from the Ford Motor Company. He was a member of Connection Point Church (formerly First Baptist Church of Raytown). He was known for his love for Jesus, and for his family, and celebrating life throughout.

He was predeceased by his parents, five siblings, Doris Vandierendonck, Evean "Yonto" Jones, Francis Ellingsworth, Billie Jobes, and James "Jimmy" Jones, and a daughter-in-law, Virginia "Kathy" (Byrd) Jones, and one grandson Matthew Jones.

Survivors include his wife Mary of the home; three sons: Richard of Newark, TX, Steven and his wife Kathie of Farmington, MO and Gregory and his wife Susan of Lee’s Summit, MO; one daughter, Debra Wheeler and her husband Dennis of Estero, FL; eleven grandchildren, nine great grandchildren and one great great grandson. Also surviving are one sister, Margie Jones of Kansas City, MO; two brothers, Robert "Bobby" Jones of Kansas City, MO and Edward "Eddy" Jones of Lee’s Summit, MO; many nieces and nephews and other loving family and friends.

Due to COVID 19 public policies, a private graveside service will be held at the Floral Hills Cemetery on Thursday, April 23 with Rev. Larry Thomas, officiating. A memorial service will be announced after the COVID 19 pandemic.
