Rhonda Kay DeHaemers

Rhonda attended Westport High School and was involved in many school activities before graduating in 1969. She was in the last graduating class of the Trinity Lutheran School of Nursing, where she received her Nursing Diploma in 1972. Rhonda was an operating room nurse and was previously a long time employee of North Kansas City Hospital. Rhonda also did private duty nursing, bringing comfort and compassion to many in their final days. Rhonda had a great love of music, played the violin in the school orchestra, collected dolls and excelled in sewing and needlework. She couldn’t get enough of her beloved Kansas City Royals and Kansas City Chiefs

Rhonda was preceded in death by her father Russell G Box and her sister Sheryl Box Maldonaldo, both in January of 2011.

She leaves behind her mother, Doris M Parker, Independence, Missouri, daughters Kimberly Sims, Indianapolis, Indiana, Laura Schmidt, Prairie Village, Kansas and their families. Also, sister, Marsha Maples, Independence, Missouri, and brothers Randall Box, Lee’s Summit, Missouri, Ralph Parker, Kansas City, Missouri, Dan Parker, Raymore, Missouri, Tom Box, Raytown, Missouri , David Box, Kansas City, Missouri and Richard Box, Houston, Texas., along with many nieces and nephews.

A celebration of life visitation for Rhonda will be held Saturday, August 6, 2022 from 2:00 PM to 3:00 PM at Newcomer's Floral Hills Funeral Home, 7000 BLUE RIDGE BLVD, KANSAS CITY, MO 64133, followed by a celebration of life memorial service from 3:00 PM to 3:45 PM.
